Facebook has been keeping busy the last few weeks as a large amount of direct sellers have been placed in the infamous “Facebook Jail” with many left wondering why. While hardly any of our own customers are currently incarcerated, it still saddens us to see so many frustrated and confused so we wanted to help clear things up and give you the truth about why Facebook blocks posts and profiles.
There are reasons why Facebook is blocking top leaders, direct sellers, and we’ve even been told, a CEO. If Facebook sees that you are doing any of the following, there is a good chance that they will temporarily keep you from posting in your own group, on your page, and even your timeline:
- Company Image Sharing – We know that it is convenient and exciting to post images that your company is giving you to market the latest products and sales but with thousands upon thousands of consultants sharing the same exact images, Facebook’s security measures will quickly prohibit those posts because it views them as a possible “attack” to their platform. Facebook’s algorithm isn’t sophisticated enough to identify malicious vs. non malicious content, it simply sees thousands of the exact same content flooding the system and assumes it to be malicious so the posts or even entire Facebook profiles get blocked. Facebook security measures are enforced across ALL methods of post creation. It doesn’t matter if you are creating the posts via your mobile device, your desktop computer, or if you are using a scheduler. If you’re posting massed produced content, Facebook will likely block your posts in order to protect their platform from being flooded with duplicated and auto-bot type posting. Using your own product images in a way that is both personalized and fun (think product selfie!) will help prevent this from occurring. Take the time to think outside the box to market these products. Not only will people notice them more but they’ll be more inclined to buy from you for standing out from the crowd!
- Script Sharing – If you’re sharing exact party, class or training scripts with your team and they are then sharing with their own team and no one is taking the time to personalize their posts and parties and make the content their own, Facebook will notice this and can block you from posting. The easiest and best way to avoid this from taking place is to simply share IDEAS. Give your team a script guideline and offer them support and tips on how to make their own parties super fun and engaging. We all have our own unique personalities and they should come across in every single post in our parties. This blog post expands upon this topic.
- Posting Image After Image – When you’re in the live portion of your Facebook party and you’re posting image post after image post in quick succession (we’re talking 1-3 minutes apart) Facebook will see this as not only spammy but robotic and can block you. To avoid this from happening, we suggest that you alternate your post type and have an image, then a link/video followed by a status then an image and so on as we show in the image below. Using custom albums and multi-photo posts are great workarounds for ways to showcase a lot of images within one post, without tripping Facebook’s spam filters.
The truth about Facebook Jail is this: Facebook does not want mass produced content posted on their platform, period. Facebook doesn’t care if you are scheduling your content or manually posting your content. In fact, they welcome third party apps and view scheduled posts the exact same as manual posts. It is WHAT you are posting that can get you thrown in jail so be sure to follow our tips here. Facebook is definitely NOT targeting CinchShare or any other scheduling software for that matter. Facebook already has security measures in place that specifically target and block Facebook apps that are seen as spammy or abusing the Facebook community and developer policies. Since our initial release over three years ago and still true today, CinchShare has never been restricted or blocked by Facebook and it’s why we are able to offer UNLIMITED scheduling. Facebook is simply targeting content as well as the users posting that content because Facebook is seeing that content posted to an “abusive” degree on their platform. To those who are spreading false claims that Facebook jail is due to scheduling, we strongly urge you to reach out to us and learn the true facts before sharing false information. We encourage you to share this blog post with your friends in the direct sales industry so that everyone is aware of the reasons why Facebook is cracking down. Here is a FREE EBOOK about Facebook Jail as well. We don’t like to see any business owner blocked and want everyone to know the ways to keep themselves free and clear!
