How to Keep Your Posts From Being Blocked by Facebook

Recently, a high number of posts have been individually blocked by Facebook. This is happening to both manual posts as well as scheduled posts because they are being overly used and have triggered Facebook’s spam/security filters. We have done a bunch of research and the blocks are occurring on all post types: status updates, photo posts, and link posts where the content is exactly the same or mostly the same.

Blocked Posts

Here are 3 examples of posts that are currently being blocked:

Example 1:  UPDATE – The ban on this particular post has been lifted!

Try to post this text manually on Facebook right now:  “Well, at least air doesn’t have calories, right?”

When you do, Facebook will block your post and you will see the following message:

Our security systems have detected that a lot of people are posting the same content, which could mean that it’s spam. Please try a different post.

Don’t use the same carbon copy content as everyone on your team. Sharing ideas is fantastic, but by creating your own images and changing the post message to reflect your unique voice, your posts will not be blocked. Facebook’s spam filters are being triggered because thousands of consultants are using the exact verbiage and images. Be original!

Example 2:

Certain company images are currently being blocked by Facebook because they have been posted by hundreds, if not thousands, of consultants. Posting the same image repeatedly causes a post to get blocked. Facebook will not allow you to schedule the post or post it manually.

Take photos of your favorite and most popular products and create your own unique images! We integrated Canva into CinchShare so that you can easily design your own content for this very purpose. It’s a win-win as Facebook loves personalized content and your guests will also appreciate seeing the “real life” use of your products coming from you rather than the use of corporate images.

Example 3:

Posts that have messages that are being repeated too often are also being blocked due to not altering the content enough. When you only replace the host’s name and website link (in this image, for example) Facebook will still block the post because too much of the text remains the same.

spam script

If your company is sharing scripts and you’re not personalizing them to be in your own voice then Facebook will consider the post to be spam. Change up the sentence structure by editing your post to be authentic to you, which will not only help your post from being blocked, but it will likely help you increase sales and grow your relationships.  Simply be yourself!

It is very apparent that everyone needs to be creating and posting their own original content. We have been encouraging this since day one. The whole repeating template idea – people posting and sharing the exact same content over and over and over – not only causes issues with Facebook, but also doesn’t make for a successful party. Consultants sharing entire party scripts and posts with one another and posting cookie cutter content with the same messages over and over are all being blocked. To make sure that your posts don’t get blocked, you can follow the solutions we provided. Facebook has been cracking down on the amount of spam lately so we highly recommend that you implement these guidelines into your marketing strategy and share with your teams so that everyone can be aware of the right way to post and how to avoid being blocked and put in Facebook Jail. The most important thing to remember is that Facebook wants originality so if you create your own content and follow our party script guidelines you should be in the clear!

  1. This is funny as Fb posts or allows the same vomit about society. Its contradictory. But post a few pics of your product and you get blocked or jailed. I know its not cinchshare its Fb. But I’ve been told not to post more often than 5 minutes in groups or parties. My wording is mine and I know all consultants aren’t posting the exact thing because we have to make it our own. Its just ridiculous what they let get posted but post a pic of jewelry, candles, leggings, skin care etc and lots they have a fit and jail you.

  2. Thank you for sharing this info. I have noticed this message way too many times.. Canva makes it a little easier to create graphics but I’m still learning. FB is really cracking down on this. I will be sharing with my team too.

  3. These are great reminders! But personally I’ve ended up in jail when I think because I’ve created too many albums with uploading images for my parties too fast on my biz page which turns around and blocks me from groups… any ideas?

  4. I totally agree! Someone tried to argue with me that copying and pasting is ‘fine’ and literally 10 minutes later – here was this blog. Love it!

  5. I agree!! I definitely like getting ideas from other Consultants in my network but I take their ideas and then personalized them with my own picture or my own graphic and I change up the words so that it sounds more like me talking! I think it’s important for your clients to know your personality it’s all part of form in that relationship! Thanks for this post.

  6. I feel that authenticity is a must for making your business successful. That’s what makes you different from the other consultants selling the same product, your individual view.

  7. Yes, thanks so much for keeping us updated on what we need to know and do. I have enough to do without spending time keeping track of all the rules with all the social media outlets.

  8. This is a great blog. I have tried explaining to my team what Facebook jail is and how to avoid it. These are great guidelines for us all to follow to ensure we aren’t behind virtual bars.

  9. Have been following your tips on these, and it also helps to set me apart from many of the other consultants that are using the copy and paste method.

  10. I absolutely agree! People in party chains go from one party to the next and quickly figure out that you aren’t really tuned into “them”, just being lazy with the cut and paste. I know it’s a hassle to change things up a bit, but it’s vital in order for your guests to feel unique and to keep your parties fresh and authentic.

  11. my party posts are personalized by me – usually don’t use scripts…. but i was notified to change my FB password — and now I need to change my CInchshare password but can’t figure out how…. HELP!

    1. CinchShare doesn’t have a password, so you just need to log out of FB and CinchShare then log back into FB then CinchShare and we’ll reconnect with your FB with that updated password.

    2. Facebook requires password changes from time to time. If you change your Facebook password, all you need to do is log into CinchShare again to re-establish the connection. There is no separate username and password to log into CinchShare so once you log in, you should be good to go!

  12. Good, straightforward article. Thanks. These ideas are so important not only for keeping out of FB jail, but also for real engagement with those viewing our posts.

    1. Thank you Grace. We’re glad you see the benefit of being original as it increases engagement!

  13. I had no idea that FB had a jail! lol I am very grateful for such practical information. Very helpful! Thanks!

  14. Having your own content is also a great way for your customers to get to know you. Thanks for sharing this information!

  15. I did a party this last week with a halloween theme..I am sure there were not thousands of people posting what I was posting. My stuff was still blocked

    1. That’s a bummer Laurie. Perhaps you posted your own content that had previously been posted?

  16. You should always be real to yourself and your followers. No one wants a simple cut and paste, put your own touch on it in order to put your best foot forward.

  17. I always try to keep my posts in my own words. I may share the main idea from someone else but try to keep the verbiage mine. People know what you sound like so posting something that doesn’t sound like you doesn’t make sense.

I haven’t been in FB jail yet but hoping this will keep me from there. I have shared with my team as I find it very informative!!!

  18. Thank you!! We do have a tendency to use what CORP provides. I try and throw in my own graphics and add games to make it more interesting.

  19. Cinchshare has given me the freedom to create personalize posts and be authentic. Thank you for this post, I’ve shared it with my team and they are embracing it.

  20. I am a Jamberry consultant and I love it but we have images special for us from our home office we can’t change them or remove logos or have writing over product! We all use the same images, what do we do for that, or is that nit an issue? There’s many many many in Flickr we can use/for us to use but we all prolly use the same ones or close to? Is wording enough?

  21. FB really needs to get a grip! They also go after anyone posting any photos, even your own personal pics. I uploaded personal photos the other day and as I was editing/putting a caption for each photo, it tried to block me because “I was typing too fast”!!!!! Seriously!!!! FB, my vocation for years involved typing, I can’t type slow!!!!!
