If you’re a business owner, Pinterest isn’t simply a platform for scrolling through pretty pictures. It’s actually an enormous search engine with over 150 million monthly active users and it’s predicted to reach 200 million by March of this year. With that rapid growth, you definitely want to be in on the action because Pinterest is a mighty selling machine! Today I’m going to share with you why it’s one of the best platforms to grow your biz!
Women love to shop and they shop online because let’s face it, it’s way more convenient! Guess who uses Pinterest? Women. A whopping 79% of pinners are female. Every time a pin gets pinned, it’s a potential sale. Pinterest pins are worth more than Facebook likes. Consumers referred by Pinterest are 10% more likely to actually purchase than those referred by Facebook; Pinterest grabs around 41% of ecommerce traffic compared to other social media sites. 88% purchase a product they pinned while 49% purchased 5 or more products they pinned. Another place to showcase
Pinterest boards are similar to Facebook’s Custom Albums. You can categorize your boards by theme, genre or product type and Business accounts now have the Showcase feature – it’s a rotating gallery of up to five of your best boards that are front and center. They are really easy to update and it’s a great idea to keep your most popular boards (those with the highest amount of repins) in your Showcase. Pinterest pins last forever and have the ability to go viral which is a rarity on Facebook these days. A pin of your product that takes the pinner directly to your website is an incredibly easy way to make a sale!
How to get started
Pinterest’s blog is chock full of helpful information and it’s easy to get set up. Start HERE to create your Business account. If you already have a personal Pinterest account, you can easily convert it to a business account here and keep your boards because if they are of interest to you, they are most likely of interest to your ideal customer! If there is a board that you’d rather not share on your business account you can easily make it Secret so that only you can see it. Organize your boards so that the first two rows are your product/opportunity/biz related boards and you choose your most eye catching cover images for each.
If you devote an hour a day to Pinterest, it won’t take long for you to see results! It’s really easy to pin from your CinchShare account and the best part about that is you won’t get sucked into the “black hole” for hours. You’ll stay focused and intentional and have the ability to change the url link to send that pinner exactly where you want her to go (i.e., your Facebook business page, VIP group, blog, website, etc.). Then you can repin other pinners’ pins that your followers would also enjoy. Hot Tip: Vertical images are the most pinnable so when creating your own graphics to pin in CinchShare, use the Pinterest design style in the Design with Canva button drop down menu!
Having a business presence on Pinterest is an awesome way to reach an entirely new audience where you can both recruit and make sales. I can’t wait to hear how much fun you’re having growing your biz on Pinterest. Be sure to keep in touch and let me know how it’s going!
